      MW Components/Hypercoils website tax exempt status guidelines

      Guidelines and instructions for managing tax exempt status manually in the Craft Commerce backend of the MW Components/Hypercoils website

      • Tax Exempt Status
        • We charge taxes for the following states: California, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersy, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas
        • Tax exemption should be granted to customers who have a tax exempt certificate. Tax ID should be recorded in Visual, and tax exempt status should be enabled in Craft once verified
        • To enable terms, tax exempt status, distributor/industrial pricing
      1. Terms and tax exempt status are managed solely in Visual. If a customer's email is listed as a contact under a Customer ID in Visual that has terms and/or tax exempt status enabled, those settings will be extended automatically to the website
      2. Therefore, enabling terms and tax exempt status is as simple as associating the customer with the correct account in Visual and ensuring that account is configured correctly.
